CINEMATOGRAPHY

As a filmmaker, cinematography is one of Braden’ s greatest passions. Not only is it the area in which he has the most expertise, it’s also one of the aspects of filming that he appreciates the most.

Cinematography is an art form that combines deliberate framing and camera motion (or the lack thereof) with the act of painting with light. When successfully combined, it results in a total immersion, both on set for the actors, and again later on the big screen for the audience. When then paired with proper set design, props, wardrobe, and the rest of the collaborative departments on set, a new world is created; one where these fictional characters can thrive and really come to life.

It’s this concept of creating something new with so many other individuals that drives Braden’s passion for cinematography. Every project is a new chance to evoke different ideas, thoughts, and emotions through creating an entirely new world from nothing.

To create is to escape.

In a time of destruction, create something.”
— Maxine Hong Kingston

trailers

Below is an array of trailers displaying works shot by Braden Barton.

“unconditional”

FIRST TRAILER

Having started out as a student film, “Unconditional” went through such an immense evolution from when it was first started until it was completed. This first trailer was released back in 2016 shortly after Braden graduated from college. If you watch this and then the most recent trailer, you can easily pick out elements that were still rough around the edges: the color grade, sound mix, dialogue editing, special effects, etc. It was over the next two years that each one of these elements were polished over and over again until the film was finally completed upon its release in 2018.

“Unconditional”

AMAZON RELEASE TRAILER

Many years after its initial inception, “Unconditional” was finally finished in 2018 and eventually released on Amazon June of that year. Having finally completed the color grading, sound design, stabilization, and special effects, Braden Barton and his team released this new trailer for the occasion.

For an accurate depiction of what to expect from the film, this is the trailer to watch. The first trailer is only included to prove as a starting point, showing the steady evolution of the film.
