DIRECTING

As a filmmaker, my primary career aspiration is to illicit emotional responses. The combined aesthetics of my screenwriting, directing, and cinematography are meant to come together thematically in hopes of building an emotional connection with the audience. The desire to forge these relationships is what fuels my passion for the craft.

“UNCONDITIONAL”

BRADEN’S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT— AS A COLLEGE STUDENT

When a loving, idyllic wife suspiciously turns up dead, her husband Adam's desperate need for justification coupled with her daughter Mary's bitter resentment leads them on a search for answers. On this emotionally explosive journey, they uncover the truth about a wife and mother who led a dual life of sex, drugs, and underground clubs for decades - and how they can continue on in life without her.

What started as an overly-ambitious student “thesis” film, turned into an Amazon featurette. ‘What in God’s name?’ you might ask? Exactly.

WHAT comes NEXT?

What comes next? When it comes to Braden, that’s an ever evolving answer.

Currently Braden is in the early stages of writing many different projects, a couple of which are completed and ready to be produced. Of his prospects, these below are the one’s he’s most excited about:

“WAR IN WEST HAVEN”

Logline:

“A big-city cop in a small town literally finds Jesus -- albeit against his will -- thanks to a psychotic preacher and a corrupt police department.”

Officer Paul Michael has just transferred to the small town of West Haven with his wife, Claudia, and daughter, Susie, in hopes of escaping a traumatic experience as a big city cop in his previous life. Whilst attending a ‘gruesome’ crime scene at a church, a decapitated statue of Jesus Christ, Himself, at the forefront of his investigation, Officer Michael is called out to a “domestic disturbance,” deep in the woods on Damascus Road. What Officer Michael finds on Damascus Road is a life altering event.

In this quirky drama, charming yet conflicting characters lead the charge in driving this darkly styled narrative. Acting as an exciting ode to the prophetic ‘War in Heaven,’ this story twists and turns until the very end, leaving a trail of blood and bodies in its wake.

Not only is this project completed and ready to be produced, it’s also already gaining some attention after becoming an official selection at the “Beverly Hills Screenplay Contest” at the beginning of 2019. This is only the first festival it has been submitted to as a screenplay, and while it will continue to be submitted to more, plans are underway for this to be produced as soon as possible.
